Maxer Turns Four

Well, technically Max's birthday is tomorrow, but his party was today.  It was a bouncing good time.  We celbrated at one of our local gyms.  They had bounce houses, and we had a blast.

Here we are pre-party.

The food spread. Note the bouncy ball cupcakes.  These were a hit (picture bouncy balls everywhere)

Enjoying the place all to ourselves for a few minutes.

Reading a note Gaven made for Max

Austin giving Maxer a lift

Maddox had his own bouncy fun

Time to blow out candles (He was concentrating very hard on the song)

Mason REALLY liked the cupcakes

Present time!

It was a great party.  I can't believe Maxer's four tomorrow.  What a big boy!

Our first Halloween as a family of four. What fun. Months ago Mommy said she had this great idea for costumes (she's such a planner). She thought the big three could be Jedi knights and Maddox could be yoda. Sure sure, cute idea, but Maxer and I had other ideas for our costumes. She was sad to realize that gone are the days when we blindly comply with her costume whims. :) but...less sad to realize she could just save the $200 bucks worth of costumes. So, we decided we wanted to use superhero costumes we already had...she said fine.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves. On Halloween at my school, we had career day. I decided I wanted to be a miner. Mommy is pretty sure I just wanted to borrow Daddy's head lamp. Max had a Halloween party so he went as the flash.

The little boys wore Halloween pjs to school. It was a fun day. We were all set to go to the Halloween festival in our town,

But then!! Mommy and Daddy surprised us with a bunch of new costumes they scored on craigslist. So, we tried on lots of different options and decided on:

Ninjas! Even Daddy dressed up. What fun. I especially liked my costume because you couldn't see my face.

Mason went as spiderman. I think he was sad we weren't all superheroes as planned. But all was ok after he got a few smarties in him.

Maddox went as a hungry hungry hippo. ;)

Our little town has a great Halloween tradition where they shut down main street and all the shops pass out candy. It is one good time!

Here we are at The Dinner Bell. Our good friends are peeking out the window at us :)

Here's my cousin, Austin, scaring us!

And here we our with our good buddy, Collier.

I hope you guys had a great Halloween too!

Greer Turns 2!

The Mitchell Men are a big group. Even bigger than you might realize. Besides the four of us, we have cousins. Lots of cousins. Lots of BOY cousins (there are 8 of us Mitchell Men...though a couple technically have different last names). But we have one super special GIRL cousin, Greer.

She's a.dor.a.ble. And on 10/20, she turned 2. What does every 2 year old princess want? A shoe party of course. So sweet Greer had a shoe party with her Mitchell Men. :)

It was too fun. Everyone brought her new shoes, and we ate pink cookies (then the boys found guns and did what boys do while Greer played with her new shoes).

Happy birthday sweet girl.

Love,

One of the 8 reasons you'll never get a date (if we can help it!)

This month I was the Vandal Stand Out Student of the Month in Ms. Smith's class!

They had a ceremony where Mommy and Daddy got to see me get a medal. I was picked "for my good problem solving skills."

Good times.
