Heaven on Earth

Otherwise known as Dublin, TX-home of Dublin Dr Pepper. For my non-Texan blog fans, Dr Pepper is the most perfect beverage on the planet. We took a tour of the Dublin Dr Pepper plant and I learned a lot.

Dr Pepper originated in Waco, TX (where Mommy and Daddy met and where Mommy went to law school). In the 1970's the price of sugar rose to an all time high and many beverage companies switched from pure cane sugar to corn syrup, but the Dublin Dr Pepper plant refused to change its recipe. To this day Dublin Dr Peppers are made with Imperial sugar and they are fantastic (or so I've heard. Mommy won't let me have any ...yet)

Here are some pictures from our tour:

Mommy took full advantage of the fact that we were at the only place on the planet where she could get a fountain Dublin Dr Pepper. Mmmmm tasty! ~Miles

Generation after generation...

This weekend was my Great-Great-Grandmaw's 90th birthday-Wow! I have a Loooong ways to go before I catch her. So, we made the journey to DeLeon, TX to celebrate 90 years of life. It was pretty cool. There in one backyard was 5 generations. Here are some pictures:

This is me and Granny (Mommy's Mommy)

Here I am with Mammaw (Mommy's Mommy's Mommy)

And finally...5 generations: Me, Mommy, Granny, Pappaw (Granny's Daddy) and Grandmaw (Pappaw's Mommy)

Got all that? 90 years...I hope one day I'm the great great grandpaw in a photo like this! ~Miles

Quality time with Mommy

Mommy's been in court all week and I have missed her. Today during one of the breaks we had a great time. She says I'm going to be a thrill seeker because I like to be tossed and I like the feeling of falling. But mostly, I just love quality time with Mommy! ~Miles

Messing with the padres

As I mentioned in my previous post, I like messing with Mommy while she tries to get me rolling on video. Here's a clip of our typical tummy time. I fuss, I rock and move around, but I don't give her the actual roll until times up on her digital camera! Ha ha take that Mommy!

I am holding myself up and scooting in a complete circle though, so at least I'm giving her something. ~Miles

8 year olds are amazing!

This video is me and my friend, Colby. Colby came to visit me in chambers last week. Colby was much more fun than the stuffy lawyers who usually stop by.

Mommy insists on trying to catch me rolling over on film. I hate tummy time, so I like to torture her by NOT rolling over until her digital camera's 60 second record feature is full.

Anyway, Colby entertained me during tummy time and made it fun. I hope Colby comes back soon-we need more testosterone in chambers (not that I'm getting tired of the ladies or anything). Below is a video of me and Colby. ~Miles

Watch out Tiger

Those who know me know golf is in my blood. My room is decked out in golf gear and I even have a golf cart (okay so it's a golf cart rocker). I can't wait until I can walk so I can get out there and work on my drive! Watch out Tiger, Sam's got nothing on me! ~Miles

I just want to say for the record that Daddy did NOT want me to post the previous picture. But hey, I'm a manly man. I can get away with a dress this one time. Don't worry Daddy, I'll be in football pads before you know it! ~Miles

What is wrong with this picture?

So apparently, my chambers Aunt Andrea made a dress for her friend's baby. And apparently she was curious if the dress would fit the baby. And seeing as how I'M a baby....well, you get the picture. Mommy couldn't resist photographing the occasion and all I have to say is if I have gender identity issues later in life, we know who's to blame! ~Miles

I do make the dress look pretty good though huh? ;-)

I run with the big dawgs...

Below are some video clips of me with my dogs, Justice and Maverick. They are great danes and I love them. I think they are funny when they lick me. Mommy says I will never have a fear of dogs since I have these guys around me all the time! Watch me laugh it up! ~Miles

Get out the brooms...

Or at least that is what I'm hoping for! I'm a big Rangers fan. Baseball is my favorite thing on TV. And it's been great to watch the Rangers whoop up on those Angels. If they win tonight, it will be a sweep. Mommy won't let me stay up for the whole game, but you can bet when I wake her up at 4:30 I'm asking who won!

I could use some baseball. Go Rangers!

splashin' Mommy!

Going under water!!!

Splish Splash

So I went swimming for the first time today!!! And Mommy dunked me under water! It was fun though. Mommy said I was very brave. I didn't cry at all. I think I like the water. I can't wait to get in the ocean at Myrtle Beach! Bring on the H2O! ~Miles

Independence? Are you sure I'm in the right country?

So mommy tells me that all this celebration today is for our "independence." I think she must be confused. I am FAR from independent. I sleep in a bed with bars, I'm locked in my car seat with a 5-point harness, and when I'm awake I'm either held by someone or playing in my exersaucer (see post below-that's not really a bad thing). Yep, I think it's going to be a while before I have any independence. Oh well, I do like cuddling with my mommy and waking her up for my 4:30 am feeding. Maybe independence isn't all it's cracked up to be. Can I still watch the fireworks though? ~Miles

Daddy's exersaucer

So, as you might have noticed under my "favorite toys" list, I am in love with my exersaucer. It is the perfect toy. It allows me to stand, which I am really into these days, it gives me a 360 degree circle of toys for my enjoyment, and it makes noises in English and Spanish. Everything is right at my finger tips. I am not sure a better toy exists.

Anywhoo, I was thinking Daddy would probably enjoy a grown up exersaucer, with a few modifications of course. Here's how I envision it: Daddy's exersaucer seat would be leather, the very plush kind. Daddy prefers sitting over standing--I do not understand this--so his exersaucer would also have a place to lay out his legs. His toys would include: the remote, the controller for the wii, a golf club (with wiffle balls-we're inside folks!), and a steady stream of microwave popcorn.

Yep I think when I grow up, I'm patenting the grown-up exersaucer. I am learning so much about patents as the chambers baby, that I am sure I could patent the grown up exersaucer and sue anyone who tries to make grown up chairs like Daddy's for patent infringement (of course, I may have to get around some Lazy Boy prior art, but who doesn't love a challenge?)

Hmm...I'm hungry. "waaaaaaaaaaa"

I tell you what...working as the chambers baby is tough! I think I finally have the staff trained though! I mean, all I need to be a happy chambers baby is constant attention. Is that too much to ask?

Here's a video of me with a certain chambers Aunt (you know who you are!)

Jumping on the blog bandwagon

Now that I'm 5 months old, it is time for me to embrace the blog world. Blogging will not only keep my family and large fan base informed on the big events of my day (such as eating squash and spitting up on various attorneys), it will also give me an avenue to communicate with Mommy and Daddy, who clearly have NO idea what I am thinking sometimes!
Case in point: Mommy what on earth were you thinking putting me in this outfit? Seriously, I'm going to have to defend this picture someday. What are the kids in daycare going to say? I know I am cute, but PLEASE resist the urge to squash what little baby manhood I have with these wardrobe selections.
I look forward to sharing my thoughts on naps, working, and family in the days to come! ~Miles
