Victoria

Last weekend we headed to Victoria to see Granny and Pop, Mammaw and Pappaw, and all the family. Some of the family was in from out of town, so it promised to be a big group.

We loaded up and headed out (note this is actually a picture from our return drive. Yes that is a uhaul. Mommy and Daddy brought themselves back a new bed). A 7 hour drive with four kids (including a baby) is not Mommy and Daddy's idea of fun. But it was a great trip and well worth the drive.

We had a blast. We made sno cones (LOTS of sno cones)...

We got dirty making mud pies them swam to get clean.

We had lots of cuddle time and just plain fun.

We even managed to get a picture together (but the sun was in my eyes).

What a great trip. I wish Mommy had taken more pictures, but being camera-less is tough.

Summer Lovin'

This summer has been fast and furious. Here's what has been going on...

(sorry for the blurry pics. Mommy had to send in her camera, and they will have it for like a month.)

The Longhorns got second place in our league and got to go to the playoffs. We ended up in fourth place in the district. Not too shabby for my first year. So this is my first official "place" trophy. As in, different than the ones you get at the end of the year for just being on the team. (I got one of those too, and it looked really coo.). Pretty exciting. T-ball was super.

We are two wild and crazy guys! We love these silly hats we got at First Monday a while back. We are always playing around wearing them.

We have been swimming at our neighbors' pool several nights a week during the week. Our neighbors are so sweet to let us just come over whenever to swim. They are awesome!

Pic-nic Lunch at Sonic one Saturday when Daddy had to work.

Partying it up with my buddies at a swim party.

And...just in case you were wondering if I'm a big boy...I'm officially wearing a real watch (which I love). Kindergarten here I come.

It has been one fun summer.

Happy Fourth

I just had to share this cutie patootie on July 4th.

Happy boy.

May The Force Be With You

You know what's popular with The Mitchell Men these days? Star Wars! We love it. Mommy has been wanting to update our bedding, well guess what we got???

This...

Is that cool or what? The bedding is from PBK, and Mommy found the great wall decals on etsy.

This is my bed. I'm a Jedi see?

Maxer is one too...

Or maybe he is bobafet...

This rug is so soft and cool. We just need to add some art work and some shelving for our Star Wars toys and we will be all set.

As you can see, we LOVE it!

Maddox is FOUR months old

On July 6, Maddox turned 4 months old. Boy is that hard to believe. It is flying by, and it seems like he has always been here too.

Maddox is still super happy. He started daycare this month at the same school Mason goes to. He seems to like it. Mommy and the folks she works with had some Maddox withdrawals at first, but I think everyone has adjusted. I'm happy to report that he is still nursing at home and taking pumped bottles at daycare. Hopefully that will keep working for everyone for a while.

Maddox really likes his exersaucer. He is experimenting with all of its attachments, and getting lots of help from us big bros.

Here's a pic from "camo day" at the little boys' school.

And of course we all wanted in on the picture taking.

Maddox also really likes looking at himself. :) he sleeps on his tummy, so he has great upper body strength. He is thinking about rolling, but he already scoots some. He is ready to be mobile.

Did I mention he is very expressive?

He has also started to tease Mommy with a few good nights of sleep. Heres hoping he gets consistent with that in the near future. I think since he's the last one though, Mommy says she doesn't really mind the middle of the night sessions with just the two of them. It is a sweet time that will end all too soon.

He's a keeper!

The Magic Tree House

We read a lot around here. Every night before bed, we say our prayers, read a Bible story, then read a book or two. Since I'm getting older, Mommy wanted to change our nightly tradition up a bit and start reading me chapter books.

So we started this series...

I have to tell you, it is GREAT!

We are on book 8, and I Love them. In each book, Jack and Annie go to this tree house, find a book and open to a picture and say "I wish I could go here." then the tree house takes them there! We have been to the time of dinosaurs, seen Egyptian pyramids, the Amazon rain forrest, the ice age, a knight's castle, pirates, some cool ninjas, and now we are in space!

Mommy wasn't sure if Max would be interested in a book with not many pictures, but he likes it too. It's a great series if you are looking for something to read with your Mommy (or, you know, alone) :)

Father's Day

My dad is really the best. We had a great Father's Day celebrating him. And this was our first Father's Day with Maddox.

I love you Daddy!

Port O'Connor Trip

At the end of May, we figured it was high time we headed south to Granny and Pop's to do some fishing!

And fishing we did. Well, Mommy, Daddy and Pop did most of the fishing, but Maxer and I rode the boat over to Sunday beach to play in the surf and look for sand dollars. It was super fun as usual.

It was a GREAT weekend to be in POC. It was Warrior's Weekend. That's where they bring wounded warriors from all over and thank them for their service and sacrifice by taking them fishing. It's a huge effort. Lots of people volunteer to take people out.

When the soldiers first arrive in POC, there's a looooong line of people cheering them on. We took the golf cart over and got in line to join the cheers. Mommy got teary eyed looking seeing all of the great soldiers.

Then after the buses off loaded the soldiers, we ran up to the pier to give them hand shakes and thank them for their service. That was really neat.

Look at all of these people! This is not even half of them.

I met a guy who was missing a leg. He told me he lost his leg in battle. I told him I thought soldiers were really cool.

It was a really great weekend.

Backyard Fun

We are really enjoying our new (to us) house, but MY favorite part is the backyard. Not long after we moved in, Granny and Pop came to help us assemble things to whip it into shape!

First, we added a swing set. You can climb way up to the top and see the whole street!

And we have lots of driving room.

We also get to play on our cool new water slide. We have had a few fish fries where some of our friends got to come play on it too.

Did I mention there's lots of driving room?

We LOVE it!

Maddox's Three Month Post

Since Maddox hits the four month mark this week, I thought it was high time I did his three month post.

Boy is he a cutie! Maddox is a very happy boy. He is still not sleeping through the night, but he only gets up once between 2 and 4. Usually he eats and goes right back to sleep. He is a great eater. He is still going to work with Mommy, but he starts daycare next month. I know Mommy hopes he will take a bottle well and still nurse when they are together.

Maddox has always loved to sit up so it is not surprising that he likes the bumbo.

I like to talk to him or sing to him in the mornings during breakfast. He is too cute!

We love you buddy!
