How To Tame Your Dragon

Daddy's Aunt Cynthia made us these excellent "dragon tails." Aren't they cool?

Mommy and Daddy are going to have their work cut out for them with these two dragons. :)

It wasn't long before we realized that we could use our tails like swords on our backs!

We had so much fun!

Max the dragon had to have his breathing treatment before bedtime.

Neither of us would sit in Mommy's lap during story time tonight because we didn't want to take off our tails. We even tried to talk Mommy into letting us wear these to bed, but she said no. I told Mommy that if she let me wear my dragon tail to bed and a snake happened to come in my bed it would get scared and run away because it would think I was a dragon. Even this awesome logic was not enough to convince Mommy to let me sleep in it though. :( It's right beside my bed for first thing in the morning!

Night Night!

Super Sunday

Today was a nice day. Daddy let Mommy sleep in (she is still recovering from yesterday's run) and we jammed out at the house until church time. Here's Max singing "The Lord's Army."

In case you didn't get all of that, he's saying "I may never march in the infintry; ride in the calvary ride like a cowboy (Max's version); shoot the artillary. I may never zoom o'er the enemy, but I'm in the Lord's Army- yes sir!" It was my favorite song when I was his age too. :) After church we played outside while Mommy cleaned the house (see the living room in the video above? It was a wreck!)

And now for "Miles' Bed Time Bible Commentary"

Jonah: It was a whale, not a fish Mom:

Tonight we read the story of Jonah (another of my favorites). God told Jonah to go to a place Jonah did not want to go. When Jonah didn't listen to God, God sent a whale to swallow Jonah and take him to the place. (Do not mess with God!)

Only here's the thing, when Mommy read it, she said a FISH swallowed Jonah. Look at these pictures. Does this look like a fish to you? I promptly told Mommy "that is a WHALE not a fish." This made Mommy laugh because apparently she had this same discussion in her Sunday School class today. So...if you're reading this Dr. Ben, you are TOTALLY right...definitely a whale. :)

I'm pretty sure whether it was a fish or a whale is not the point to Jonah, but I mean come on...

Have a great week everyone!

Off To The Races

This morning Max, Mommy and I ran in the Tyler Azalea runs. Mommy ran the 10k and Max and I ran in the 50 yard dash. It was really fun.

We did a little "pre-race" warm up on the playground.

Warming up my legs with some stairs.

Here we are before the race.

This was the start line for Mommy and the finish line for our race.

All lined up for the 50 yard dash. Getting a pep talk from Daddy.

Here we go!

Mommy said we were so fast, we are blurry in the pictures! ;)

Maxer's first race at the age of 2.

Future track stars.

We also cheered for Mommy while she ran her 10k. Daddy took us all over the course so we could cheer for her. I think we definitely made her run faster!

Here we are at the end of our races.

It was a fun day. Maxer and I finally got to run in the street without holding Mommy's hand and we didn't even get in trouble. We will have to do that again!

A Circus Life For Me

Yesterday we went to the circus. It came to our hometown. I have never been to a circus. Mommy took off from work early so we could go to the early show. It was pretty fun.

Check out the elephants!

Look who we found there...my buddy Collier!

This guy hung from these ropes by his TOES!

There was lots of good music so we jammed out.

Mason had fun too.

We all got sno-cones. Or as Max calls them "no cones"

Maxer wanted to climb up there with these ladies. Me-not so much.

Best Buds.

This is "Mrs. Collier's Mom" I really like her. She let me climb in her lap, climb out of her lap, climb in her lap, climb out of her lap. Never mind that she is already holding Collier's baby brother in her tummy lap. She made room for me!

Mason didn't get a no cone, but he did get a bottle. :)

We had a great time. I asked if we could go back today, but Mommy said the circus is in a new town tonight. Man, they pick up and move out fast!

Bed Time Bible Commentary: I'm Banning Hair Cuts!

I really like hair cuts. This picture is from my second one ever (the first one where I didn't cry and I decided I LIKED hair cuts)

But, I think I'm done with them. Because tonight we read about Sampson. Did you know that he was really strong? (That is, until he let a woman cut his hair). I'm not making THAT mistake! I told Mommy "no more hair cuts for me." I need to get big and strong. She said we'd talk more about that in about 3 weeks (guess that's when I'm due again) :)

I Love Saturday Mornings

We live exactly three houses and one church away from the doughnut store. So, weather permitting, we head that way on Saturday mornings with Mommy. It's a fun trip we do with just Mommy to give Daddy a little rest time since he lets Mommy sleep in on Saturdays. Today, Daddy had to work. So no rest time for him, but we went anyway.

We have our wheels and we are ready!

No matter what Max picks out at the doughnut store, he always wants to sample everybody else's choices. I guess sharing is just part of being a big brother. :)

After the doughnut store, we biked to the elementry school playground that is across the street from our house. Mommy was busy supervising and holding Mason, so she didn't get any pictures. We had a great time though!

Then, we got home and played some more outside. We love it outside. We shot some hoops...

and we took Mommy's order (this is "Sonic"). P.S. at our Sonic, we only have chicken nuggets!

Now, I'm resting and blogging while Max and Mason nap. When Daddy gets off of work, we are going to meet him at the grocery store. We LOVE the grocery store. And today me and Max found money (we each found a whole quarter), so we are on the hunt for a quarter prize machine at Wal-Mart for a new treasure!

I hope you're having a fun Saturday too!

~Miles

Here's a few more pics from our outing to the grocery store. We got ice cream gift certificates from our allergy doctor for being good boys. So Mommy let us have THIS:

It was so tasty!

Word to The Word

Our night time routine around here is pretty fun. It goes something like this:

We start with bath time (look we had green water in honor of St. Patty's Day tomorrow)

Then, we catch the end of Diego and it's off to our rooms for story time, bed time prayers, Bible story, kisses, more kisses, and off to sleep. Maxer and I take turns picking out the bed time story and then Mommy picks out the Bible story. This is the Bible we read:

We've probably read all of the stories a dozen times by now, and we certainly have our favorites (Noah was one of the first stories I remember Mommy reading to me. I think Noah's a cool guy). Mommy decided it would be fun, though, to just read the Bible from beginning to end. So...I'm going to give you some of my comments from Bible Story Time. :)

Presenting the First Issue of "Miles' Comments From Bedtime Bible Stories" (You get two for one today lucky readers!)

Noah: Did the Tiger Make it in?
Yesterday we read about Noah and the Ark. As I said, this is one of my favorites. When Mommy read it last night, I told her "you know which animal I am in the boat Mommy? the TIGER!!!" but then I looked on the picture and there was no tiger in the boat. See!

I was sure I saw one. I would not let Mommy finish the story until I located "Miles the Tiger" and made sure he made it into the Ark! Mommy pointed to the lion in a picture on the next page to try to appease me, but I let her know that was NOT a tiger, it was a lion. Finally, I remembered where I had seen that Ark and tiger before: on the cover. Phew! The tiger made it on board afterall.

Abraham: Was the Promised Land REALLY All That Great?

Tonight we read about Abraham and his journey to the promised land.

Mommy was reading about how the promised land had green valleys and flowing rivers and how nice it was. I asked the question I'm sure all of my loyal blog fans want to know: "Mommy, did the promised land have toys?" I mean, how great could it really be if there weren't any toys right? Mommy assured me there were toys in the promised land so now I think it's a pretty cool place too!

The Bible- good stuff!

Amazon.com $avings

My Mommy is always looking for ways to be thrifty with the money God gives us. Here's one of her best finds yet! It's the Amazon diaper deal. Mommy has been using it for about 6 months and it is awesome and involves almost no time. There are two ways to save: (1) save by using subscribe and save; (2) add to that savings by stacking an Amazon.com coupon from Parents Magazine.

Here's how:
(1) Go to Amazon.com and pick out the diapers you want. Around here we use Huggies Supreme Little Movers diapers (times 2!) Maxer wears size 5, Mason the chunky monkey is in a 3. These are pricey diapers.

If you just went on amazon.com and ordered the biggest pack they offer, for example, you'd spend $33.59 for 128 size 3 diapers. See here . Wal-mart online actually charges a little more just in case you were wondering if Amazon marks theirs up to mark them down...nope.

(2) When you figure out which diapers you want, look to the right of the screen and you'll see "subscribe and save- save 30%" select that option. That option gets you an automatic, no coupon needed at all, 30% off! So now you're looking good at $23.51 for those same 128 diapers that run you $35.00 at Wal-Mart. This option also entitles you to free 2-day shipping so no shipping, no tax, no trip to the store. This is a program where Amazon will send you another box of these same diapers as often as you want for the same price and free shipping. Mommy usually cancels this right after the order ships and then does it all again the next time she is running low on diapers. It's super easy.

(3) But wait...sweeten the deal if you have a Parent's Magazine. Mommy says you can get these in other magazines too, like Parent and Child and a few other magazines, but they've been consistently in Parent's every other month since about last October. They are for either 20% off or $10.00 off. They are green pull out coupons. They look like this:

These coupons are stackable with the deal above. So, if you have a 20% off coupon, you end up with 50% off the diapers (or $16.79 shipped to your door in our example above). If you have a $10.00 off coupon it looks, well, like this: :)

It's a great deal! Don't miss out people!

Life Sans Head Protection

Mason got his helmet off today. He wore it 1 day shy of 12 weeks. Mason was really a trooper with his helmet. See...

He played in his helmet...

he enjoyed outside time in his helmet...

he laughed in his helmet...

he spent his first Christmas in his helmet :) ...

and had a hospital stay in his helmet :( ...

we all cheered for our favorite team in our helmets...

he chowed down in his helmet...

he celebrated my 4th birthday in his helmet...

he even snoozed in his helmet (every night)...

and today, he got it off. And we are so excited for him.

Tonight he is sleeping peacefully without the helmet. And his head looks precious. Way to go Mason! (now watch out...play time with your big bros just got more "eventful") :)
